Robert E. Anderson, 81, Lower Paxton Township, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at Osteopathic Hospital.
Born June 16, 1940 in Cicero, Illinois, he was the son of the late Ernest and Frances (Guido) Anderson and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois. Upon graduating from college, he entered the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.
While he lived in Chicago, Bob was an accomplished racecar driver, winning many trophies. He was also an avid golfer and bowler, and participated locally in leagues and tournaments with both sports; and especially enjoyed playing golf at Hershey. His other favorite pastime was playing poker with his buddies. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
Bob was a member of LifePoint Church, Harrisburg, was a former member of the Penbrook VFW and was retired from Malter International.
Surviving is his beloved wife of over 55 years, Janis (Rodenhaber) Anderson; 4 children: Tania Anderson, MD, Harrisburg, Shelby Anderson Valentin (and her husband, Jack), Harrisburg, John Anderson, Harrisburg and Kelli Anderson Caldwell (and her husband, Eric), Spain; one brother: David Anderson (and his wife, Virginia), Chicago; and 4 grandchildren: Nadia Romanchock, Alexa Romanchock, Ava Valentin, and Colton Caldwell.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
