Ramon Antonio Tonito Santiago Cruz, Sr., 78, Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born August 3, 1943 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose Santiago Pena and Santos Gonzalez Cruz.
He was the widower of Betty L. (Storm) Santiago, who passed away in 2014 after 41 years of marriage. In addition to his parents and wife, Ramon was preceded in death by 2 granddaughters: Jaylynn Santiago and Jaliya Santiago Crawley; and his siblings: Margrao Santiago, Isaac Santiago, and Oscar Santiago.
Ramon was a huge sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies. He taught his sons different athletic activities and followed every game he could; in person, on the radio, or on television. He enjoyed listening to Spanish music, playing with his grandchildren, and putting puzzles together with his wife that ultimately were framed and hung on the wall.
Surviving are his 4 children: Antonio Santiago (and fiancée, Shawna Carroll), Oberlin, José Santiago (and fiancée, Melanie Lanehart), Wormleysburg, Nancy Santiago (and husband, Lee Crawley), Harrisburg, and Anna Santiago; 6 siblings: Urbano Santiago, Jorgé Santiago, Ana Delia Santiago, Maria Teresa Santiago, Daisy Santiago, and Wilson Santiago; 6 grandsons: Antonio III, Alexander, Eulises, Jaheem, Deshawn and Jaquan; 7 granddaughters: Jalexi, Janaya, Jakira, Jazlynn, Jalena, Jassalynn, and Jaquala; and 2 great grandchildren: Jaliya and Blayze.
Services will be held 11:30 am Friday, December 10, 2021 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, with Rev. David J. Schreffler officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:30 am until time of services. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Face coverings will be required at the funeral home.
