Harriet L. (Glise) Epler

Harriet (Glise) Epler, 83, of Harrisburg passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 1, 2020 at Hershey Medical Center.

Born November 23, 1936 in Waynesburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Rev Morton G. and Martha (George) Glise and was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald K. Epler, who passed away in 2016.

Harriet was a 1954 graduate of John Harris High School and attended Cedar Crest College. She was a founding member of the Lenker-Manor Paxtang Women’s Club. After retirement from the PA Dept. of Revenue, she enjoyed traveling, camping, her dogs, her bridge club group of 50 years, and playing on the computer.

Surviving are her 5 children: Sharon Sanderson (William), Ronald Wix, Cynthia Mory (Charles), James Wix (Gail), and Sonya Wix; her sisters-in-law: Anita Glise and Beverly Harvey; her 5 step-children: Lori Warner (Mike) Linda Haft (Doug), Jay Epler (Sherry), Rob Epler (Katy), Beth Epler; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and cousins.

Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Those wishing to send a remembrance can make a contribution to the general fund of Paxton Presbyterian Church at 3500 Sharon Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
