Virginia S. (Stover) Moad

November 23, 1925 — June 21, 2017

Virginia S. (Stover) Moad, 91, formerly of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.

Born November 23, 1925 in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Grace (Witmer) Stover and was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Wayde and Edgar Stover.

Virginia was a graduate of Hanover High School and was retired from AAA, Harrisburg. She was a long-time member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill; was a volunteer teacher at Camp Curtin and was a member of the Camp Hill YMCA.

She was the widow of George R. Moad, former supervisor of Kimmel Funeral Home, who passed away in 2016.

Surviving are her sons: William Morecraft (Cathy), Bear, DE and Andrew Morecraft (Dorit), Chapel Hill, NC; her daughter: Kayellen Smith (Kent), Concord, NH; 8 grandchildren: Mandy Munson (Greg), Seth Morecraft (Cheryl), Lanell Clark (Matt), Karly Beauchemin (Jonas), Adam Smith, Todd Morecraft (fiancée, Hannah Harrill), Katy Morecraft and James Morecraft; 5 great grandchildren: Hope Munson, Valerie Morecraft, Cedella Clark, Nina Beauchemin, and Keene Beauchemin; sister/brother in-laws, nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Virginia (Mama) was a beloved mentor for her children and grandchildren.  She was gracious and kindhearted and truly treasured her family and friends.  She’ll be remembered for her apple pies, love of ice cream - especially chocolate and peanut butter, and in later years playing Bingo.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown with the Rev. D. Guy S. Edmiston, Jr officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Friends will be received at Sell Chapel from 10:00 AM until 11:00.

Contributions in her memory may be made to her church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, 17011 or to the Masonic Learning Center for Children, 2701 N. Third Street, Harrisburg, 17110.
