Ryan B. Long, 36, beloved son and brother, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Temple University Hospital, Jeane’s Campus, Philadelphia.
Born March 15, 1985, he was the son of the late John R. Long and Wanda L. (Kreiser) Long, Penfield, and was a 2004 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School.
Ryan spent many years in Humboldt County, California, working as a landscaper, before coming home in 2017 to be with his family after the passing of his father two years earlier. He was the consummate outdoor guy: loved fishing and boating, hiking, and 4-wheeling, but also had the soul of an artist. He was an accomplished song writer, poet, artist and photographer. He loved traveling to new places to explore. As a young boy, he played baseball and was in Boy Scouts; and was a track and field team member at Lower Dauphin. After his move to California, Ryan most looked forward to spending time on his property with his father.
Ryan accepted his Lord and Savior and was saved at Memorial Lake, where a memorial service will eventually be planned.
Surviving is his mother: Wanda L. Long; his sister: Jennifer Marie Long; his brother: John R. Long, Jr.; one niece: Tori Eichler; one nephew: Breigh Long; and many other family members and friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.
A celebration of his life will be announced in the near future.
Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
