Ronald E. Wix, age 67, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Homeland Center. Born on August 5, 1957, in Chicago, he was the beloved son of the late J. Ronald Wix and Harriet (Glise) Epler. Ronald was a former member of Paxton Presbyterian Church.
A proud graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, Class of 1975, Ronald made his mark as an outstanding wrestler and spent many years as a dedicated Boy Scout. He devoted over 25 years of his professional life to various roles within the wholesale paper industry before retiring.
Ronald had a deep passion for the outdoors, relishing his time spent hunting and freshwater fishing from his boat. He found joy in reading a wide range of literature, including novels, military books, and sports magazines. Above all, Ronald treasured the moments shared with his family, particularly his cherished nephews.
He is survived by his siblings: Sharon D. Sanderson (William), Cindy W. Mory (Charles), James Wix (Gail), and Sonya Wix; as well as his nephews: Chase Mory (Kristina), Christian Mory (Brittany), and Jimmy Wix (Allison), alongside his grandnephews: Damien, Weston, Harper, and Mason.
A memorial service in Ronald’s honor will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Paxton Presbyterian Church, located at 3500 Sharon Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. The family will welcome friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the church Great Room for an hour of fellowship and light continental breakfast refreshments. Burial will follow the memorial service in the Paxton Churchyard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronald's memory can be made to Paxton Presbyterian Church or to Homeland Hospice at 2300 Vartan Way, #270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Central Dauphin East Class of ’75 for their unwavering prayers and support. Special thanks are also given to Pastor Sheldon Ames and his wife, Debbie, from Caring Community Church of God for the blessings of prayer, visits, and correspondence, which gave tremendous comfort to Ron and his family.
