Robert W. “Bob” Baker, Jr., age 55 of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends.
Born January 31, 1959 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Robert Wayne Baker, Sr. and Barbara (Kupiec) Baker Vite.
Bob was the owner of Robert Baker Construction. His partner in business and in life for 27 years was his wife, Jeanette (Straw) Baker, who survives along with his beloved children: Lori Delgado (Hector), Brian Schreffler (Amy), Bobbie Jo Riden (Greg), Robert Baker, III (Savanna) and the loves of his life, his grandchildren: Andrew Simpler, Emma Riden, Lexi Riden and Zoey Riden. Also surviving are his parents: Robert Wayne Baker, Sr. (Robin) and Barbara Vite (Chuck), his brother: Jeff Baker (Jayne), sister: Mari Davis (David), step brother: Kevin Vite (Donna), step grandmother: Jennie Vite and many other beloved family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Grace Baker of Fishing Creek Valley, and Willie Kupiec and Frieda Kupiec of Illinois.
We lost a man for all seasons when Bob passed away. No one on the earth enjoyed life more than Bob. Whether it was his annual 4th of July picnic and fireworks for hundreds of friends, business associates, and family or riding horseback through the mountains on a frosty winter day; Bob was a happy man. Hunting trips to Colorado and West Virginia with his sons and friends were yearly outings. And then there were the monthly poker games. Enough said! A good time was always had by all at the Baker Farm.
Fun loving, kind and generous, he had a special warmth about him and a great sense of humor! He was always there to lend a helping hand and a smile. Bob was a very hard working man all his life and shared what he had with everyone.
