Pedro Anthony Duran, 36, Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly in Harrisburg on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
He joins in Heaven many family members: uncles Gino Reyes and Luis Santiago; grandmother Edith Santiago; grandfather Hector Luis Reyes; cousin Evan Williams; aunt Carmen Santiago; and his wife’s grandmother Victoria Cruz and uncle José Rosario.
Born February 25, 1986 in Manhattan, he was the son of Mayra Reyes and Pedro Duran; received his diploma from John Harris High School and his Associate Degree from the Community College of Philadelphia. After he received his degree in Behavioral Health Arts, he worked for the City of Philadelphia Behavioral Health Department, engaging with the community most at need of his time. He also was a self-employed painter/contractor.
On May 26, 2017, he married Janice S. Santiago, and together they were baptized at Bethel Philadelphia Mills Church.
Tony (or Pito or Ton Loc or Pete – depending on how you knew him) loved singing and writing music; fishing; coaching youth baseball; cheering on the Yankees and the Giants; and mostly spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Surviving is his wife: Janice S. Duran; his Mom and Dad: Mayra Duran and Charles Negron; his birth father: Pedro Duran; 4 sons: J’Mel, Anthony, Ameire and Javion; Siblings: Chaslynn Negron (and Justin), Christine Negron, LySandra Negron, Leslie Duran, Evelyn Duran, Wady Duran, Maria Duran, Franyelis Duran, Edwin Duran, Chris Duran, and Sharing Duran; 3 grandchildren: J’Mel, Jr, Loyalty, and Briore; Aunt (and Godmother) and Uncle: Zulma and Roderick Thomas; nieces and nephews: Josiah, Camilla, Julien, Jayceon, Ariella, Mason, Mikaela, Steven, José, and Lei’Auni; his father-in-law: Roberto Santiago; his mother-in-law: Nydia Cruz; his original “crew”: AJ, Albert, Chris, Corey, and Rocky; his dogs: King and Honey; his cat: Rock; and many, many other family members and dear friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.
Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg.
There will be viewings Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery.
