Paul S. Schrope, Jr.

November 16, 1926 — March 9, 2015

Paul S. Schrope, Jr., 88, Susquehanna Township, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at his home.

Born November 16, 1926 in Hegins, he was the son of the late Paul S. Schrope, Sr. and Irene Huntsinger Schrope, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Jane Levan.

A graduate of Hegins Township High School, he entered the Army Air Corps during WWII.  He was a self employed painter and decorator; was a member of the Green Street American Legion and the Harrisburg Model Airplane Society; and enjoyed spending time with his family at their family retreat on the river and fishing on the Susquehanna.

Surviving is his wife, Shirley L. (Wiest) Schrope; his children:  Gary (and his wife, Susan) Schrope,  Warren, PA; Gail Kessler, Oley, PA; Luann (and her husband, David) Woodcock, Dauphin: and Susan (and her husband, Robert) Kramer, Cave Creek, AZ; 6 grandchildren:  Melisse Schrope-Rodriguez, Matthew Kessler, Robert Kessler, Brigitte Shelton, Steven Garman and Gunnar Kramer; 6 great-grandchildren:  Tyler Evans, Megan Evans, Matilyn Kessler, Miles Kessler, Jeramie Rodriguez and Andrew Rodriguez; and 2 sisters:  Joan Warner, Newark, DE and Betsy (and her husband, Lamar) Stutzman, Mt. Gretna, PA.

Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Mr. Schrope's family would like to thank Hospice of Central Pennsylvania for the care given to him during this time.
