Michael Stanley Wydra, affectionately known as “Spider”, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Harrisburg on Friday, August 6, 2021.

Born March 10, 1957 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Stanley Wydra and Nancy (Wasson) Wydra, and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Hill.

He was a 1975 graduate of Central Dauphin High School, where he played on the football team. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the West Shore Gun Club hunting camp in Potter County and loved hunting and deep-sea fishing. Michael was a true “River Rat”, spending summers at his place on Shelley Island and boating on the Susquehanna River. He was a member of several local social clubs; was a fan of Penn State football; loved dogs, John Wayne movies, Frank Sinatra, and old cars (especially old Caddys).

Whitacre, Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren: Chase Snyder, Silas Wydra, Soren Wydra, Skyler Wydra, and Sylvie Wydra; his former wife: Karen Christy, Mechanicsburg; nieces and nephews; and many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
