Michael A. Arnett

September 4, 1956 — April 27, 2025

Lemoyne

Michael A. Arnett, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, left us on April 27, 2025, at the age of 68, in his daughter’s home in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the warmth of family and the echoes of cherished memories. Born on September 4, 1956, in Kentucky, Michael's journey took a pivotal turn in 1968 when he and his family moved to Pennsylvania after the loss of his father, Ray Arnett. It was a decision that led him to a life rich in purpose, marked by his incredible work ethic, honed while studying trades at the Dauphin County Vo Tech, from which he graduated in 1974.

A man of immense dedication, Michael spent decades behind the wheel as a driver for Boger Concrete Company, and prior to that, he plied his trade with Pennsy Supply and Davis Landscaping. He embodied a spirit of industry, always the first to arrive at work and the last to leave, driven by a profound sense of responsibility that mirrored his tenacious character. He approached life with a fervor that inspired those around him, from the laughter of his daughters to the playful antics of his cherished pets.

Family was the bedrock of Michael's existence. He relished in the simple joys of life, like taking his daughter Michelle to her first concert or gathering with his grandchildren, Donnell, Julian, and Amayah, creating lasting memories that danced through the corridors of his heart. His love extended to the furry members of his family as well; his rescue cat, Miss Kitty, alongside the granddogs, Lennon and Mollie, and his grandcat, Molly, were all treasured companions.

Michael found joy in the little things, whether it was enjoying year-round bonfires in the backyard, sipping on Jim Beam whiskey while sharing stories, hanging out with friends at The Perse in Jonestown, or indulging in his love for Bluegrass music, The Allman Brothers, and Steely Dan. Saturday mornings were often greeted with early visits to the Broad Street Market, where he immersed himself in the vibrant scene, picking out fresh produce and meeting friends. He was an ardent fan, never missing the opportunity to cheer on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, especially filled with pride as they celebrated their Super Bowl victory in 2025, or root for the Kentucky College Wildcats and the Phillies.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Beth L. O'Brien, Michelle L. O'Brien, and Taylor R. Arnett, who, alongside her partner Angel Villanueva, carry forward the values he instilled. His sister, Paula Bressler, too, mourns the loss of her brother, cherishing the shared history they crafted together. Though he now joins those he loved who have passed before him—his father Ray, mother Delores, and brother Stanley—the stories of his life will continue to be told, as vibrant and compelling as the music he loved.

Michael A. Arnett leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will resonate through the laughter of his family and the memories they hold dear. He was a man who knew the beauty of life’s simplest moments and one whose presence will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at The Perse, 22 S King St, Jonestown, PA 17038.  Please RSVP (text preferred) to his daughter Michelle at 717-623-0024 by May 9, 2025.

Due to his love for his rescue cat, and in admiration for those who dedicate their lives to rescues, the family asks that contributions be made to Castaway Critters, PO Box 1421, Harrisburg, PA, 17105.

Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
