Margaret "Peggy" E. (Ramer) Weit

December 26, 1943 — March 28, 2016

Margaret E. "Peggy" Weit, 72, Middletown, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born December 26, 1943 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin A. and Florence A. (Forney) Ramer and was a 1961 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School.

She was the former office manager of the Historic Harrisburg Cemetery and retired from the Payroll Department of the Harrisburg Housing Authority.  She was also a lifetime member and former EMT for River Rescue.

Peggy was quite skilled at crafts and dearly loved her cats.  She was a breast cancer survivor, and still battled lymphoma, but never lost her joy and love for her family and friends.

Surviving is her son, David B. Weit (and his wife, Deneen) , Duncannon; one brother, Samuel M. Ramer (and his wife, Gayle), Florida; 2 sisters, Ruth A. Strawser, Mechanicsburg and Betty M. Ramer, Middletown; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Ramos, Tonya Ramos, Andrew Weit and Jennifer Weit; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg with the Rev. John M. Lanza officiating.

Since there is not a funeral service, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home to defray funeral costs; or in her memory to a Breast Cancer charity or the Lymphoma Society.
