Kathryn Elizabeth Barber, 65, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away peacefully at her home on February 3, 2026.
Born on February 15, 1960, in Harrisburg, she was the beloved daughter of the late Kathryn E. (Arms) Barber and Albert Barber. Kathy was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Kenneth Barber, and her nephew, Dennis Green, Jr.
Kathy dedicated nearly three decades of her life to serving in the Pennsylvania State Department of General Services, where she retired in 2021.
A woman of simple pleasures, Kathy cherished her morning coffee, enjoyed while playing games on her phone. She was an avid fan of television shows such as The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and various programming on the Lifetime Channel. She found joy in hobbies like paint-by-numbers, but her greatest delight came from spending time with her beloved dog, Bella.
Kathy had fond memories of living in Wildwood, NJ during the 1980s, where she took on the role of manager at Domino’s Pizza. She was well known for putting smiles on the faces of all her family and friends when she served up her famous homemade fried chicken.
Surviving is her companion of 44 years, Esther Back; her sister, Shirley Blanton; her brother, Richard Barber; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
The family will hold services at their convenience. Arrangements are being handled by Kimmel Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
In honor of Kathy's memory, donations to assist with her final expenses are appreciated at the link below.
