Judith D. (Scott) Loper

March 14, 1943 — April 25, 2017

Judith D. Loper, 74, East Pennsboro Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at her home.

Born March 14, 1943 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Lester J. and Dorothy M. (Bryner) Scott and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jodi Loper, her grandson, Cody Worley and her brother, Lester Scott.  She was a member of the Camp Hill Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Judy was a loving and selfless wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and treated everyone she met as a beloved family member.  Despite her physical afflictions, she never lost her deep faith or her joy for life; her smile and humor enriched the lives of all who knew her.

She loved all animals, and spent many hours watching Animal Planet and reading the entire works of Dr. James Herriot, DVM.  She also enjoyed watching GSN and the Food Network; shopping on Fingerhut; arranging flowers (or planting plastic ones); going to the beach and always reading books.  A great entertainer, her friends and family will fondly remember their get-togethers when Judy was cooking up a storm.  Her family was her greatest joy, and her love of babies continued even when her own were grown.  She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was eagerly anticipating her 5th great grandbaby.

Surviving is her beloved husband of over 58 years:  Ronald L. Loper, Sr.; 7 children:  Robin Boeckel (husband, Timothy), Enola, Ronald Loper, Jr. (wife, Kristin), Camp Hill, Mark Loper (wife, Rose), Landisburg, Vicki Hunt (husband, Scott), Lewisberry, Jason Loper, Camp Hill, Jeremy Loper (wife, Karen), Camp Hill and Leslie Loper-Glazer (husband, Chad), Enola; sister:  Vicky Barrick (husband, Larry), Mechanicsburg; brother:  Robert Scott (wife, Janet), Enola; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other dear friends and family members.

Services will be held 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Camp Hill Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2 Willow Mill Park Road, Mechanicsburg, 17050.

Judy’s family would like to thank the staff at Homeland Hospice for their exceptional care of her during the last few months.
