James T. Elliott Jr. entered eternal rest surrounded by love and remembrance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deana C. Proctor and James T. Elliott Sr.
He is survived by his longtime friend, companion and caregiver, Ernestine Everett, and his cherished children: Jameah Elliott, James T. Elliott III, and beloved stepdaughter: India Burnett. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Travis Joseph and Milan Everett, who brought him immense pride and joy.
James is also survived by his siblings: Lori Elliott, Roxanne Elliott, Deia Sherrod (Lenard), Annette Morrison, Shonna Owens, Patricia Stripling (Kenyana), and Cassey Owens, along with a host of extended family and friends. He shared a special bond with his favorite nieces, Chavé Miller and Tiara Elliott, and held a lifelong friendship with his best friend, Greg Crosson.
A proud graduate of William Penn High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, James earned his high school diploma in 1982 through the Vo-Tech program. Shortly after, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1982 to 1985, receiving an honorable discharge a chapter of his life that reflected his discipline, strength, and commitment.
James dedicated 23 years of service as a certified welder with Cleveland Brothers Equipment, where he was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and reliability. Outside of work, he was a proud member of Club Med Billiards, where he enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with friends.
James had a special relationship with his Lord and Savior. He also had a deep love for music, especially Mary J. Blige, whom he was grateful to see live in concert. James appreciated good times, especially admiring nice cars, but he was specially known for his impeccable sense of style. He took pride in dressing well and was rarely seen without his signature accessories and the latest and greatest sneakers were a true reflection of his confidence and personal style.
A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, James enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the meaningful connections he built along the way. His presence, style, laughter, and loyalty will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
His life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg with Reverend Jamey D. Carter, Sr., officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
James T. Elliott Jr.’s legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all those who were blessed to know and love him.
