Hieu V. Nguyen

Hieu V. Nguyen, 72, Swatara Township, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born August 21, 1953, in Vietnam, he was the son of the late Than V. Nguyen and Ngoc Phan and had studied agriculture in college. He left Vietnam in 1989 and worked for CHOP Express as a picture framer and ultimately retired from FedEx as Freight Worker.

In addition to his parents, Hieu was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tam Vo Nguyen, who passed away in 2010.

He enjoyed playing tennis when he was younger and still enjoyed watching tennis and soccer on television. He also appreciated the humor of The Three Stooges.

Since he was a child, Hieu loved the water and always resisted coming out. As an adult, he took his family to the ocean every year for two decades and never lost his love for the beach.

Mostly, he was a loving and dedicated father to his children – attending all their school functions, caring for them and their mother, and instilling in his sons a work ethic and the skill of being detail oriented.

Surviving are his sons: Tri M. Nguyen and Ryan M. T. Nguyen; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
