Frankie G. Williams

August 18, 1952 — January 30, 2017

Frankie G. Williams, son of the late James G. Williams, Jr. and Helen Green Williams, was born on August 18, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on January 30, 2017, after a brief illness.

Frankie was educated in Baltimore City and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School where people can still remember him being one of the best drum majors ever. He received his Bachelor Degree from Morgan State College (now University) in music. He went on to work at Booker T. Washington Middle School as their music teacher until moving to Harrisburg, Pa. Upon his arrival to Harrisburg, Frankie taught music and was band director at John Harris High School. After leaving the school system, he worked for PHEAA, until retirement.

A musical genius, he could play several instruments, including the piano and saxophone. He was also a member of a Jazz Band while in Baltimore and was active in the Neighborhood Block Watch in Harrisburg. Frankie will also be remembered for his gift to verbally communicate, if he was not talking, something definitely was wrong.

On July 23, 1976, he married the love of his life, Tahlia Jackson. From this union, they have three children, Michael, Krystal and Marcus. Frankie and Tahlia (Cookie) remained soul mates to the end and he will be truly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Tahlia; two sons, Michael and Marcus (Christine), Harrisburg; daughter, Krystal (Thailand), Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Michael, Lakrissta, Tysean, Mara, Chad, Arries and Myshaun; four sisters, Helen, Evelyn, Mary and Jean, four brothers, Thomas, James, Charles, John; brother-in-laws, Kirk Williams and Anthony Jackson, sister-in-laws, Angela Lewis-Browner and Vernell Scott; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
