Delvin L. Zeiders, 93, formerly of Camp Hill, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born February 29, 1932, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Olive (Meadeth) Zeiders. In addition to his parents, Delvin is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine H. Zeiders and his brothers, Rev. Donald Zeiders, Harold Zeiders, and Charles Zeiders.
A couple years following his graduation from John Harris High School, he enlisted in the United States Army Security Agency, serving from 1952 to 1955, spending two of those years in Europe before being honorably discharged. Delvin then continued his education and became a Registered Professional Engineer, retiring as Chief Engineer with the Pennsylvania Energy Office.
He was a former member of the Camp Hill United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Sell Chapel at Masonic Village. During those times in the churches, he served as Chairman of the Administrative Board, Finance Committee, Adult Sunday School Teacher, tenor soloist for many years, and member of the church choir. Delvin was also Director of a traveling little theater group and chairman of Religious Drama for the Harrisburg Council of Churches.
Much of his life was dedicated to his Masonic service. He was Worshipful Master (1984) of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464; was Past President (1997-2001) of the Board of Trustees; active in Degree Work as the Director of Ritualistic Work for 26 years; served as Chairman of Ritual for the PA Council of Deliberation for 7 years; served as Thrice Potent Master, Harrisburg Lodge of Perfection and in 1986 was coroneted a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and made an Honorary Member of Supreme Council.
Delvin was also a member of Perseverance Royal Arch Chapter, Harrisburg Council #7 and Pilgrim Commandry #11; member of the Harrisburg Forest #43 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, where he served as Grand Tall Cedar and Supreme Scribe for the Supreme Forest of the Tall Cedars of America of North America. He had been a former member of the Zembo Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. in Harrisburg and served many years in the Zembo Color Guard.
Additionally, he was a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, the Philalethes Society, Constance Council, and the Allied Masonic Degrees, where he became Sovereign Master in 2000. The following year, he received the Red Branch of Erie.
Finally, he was a member of the National Sojourners, Harrisburg Chapter #76 and Heroes of ’76, Harrisburg Chapter #76 and was made a Fellow of the Grand College of Rites of the United States of America. In 2003, he received the DeMolay Legion of Honor.
Surviving is his wife, Catharine A. (Bauer) Zeiders; his children, David L. Zeiders, Sr. (and his wife, Pamela), Camp Hill and Deborah Z. Miller (and her husband, Kenneth), Greenville, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; nieces and nephews and their families; and many Masonic Brothers.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2025 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg. There will be a viewing from 11:00 am until 11:45 am, when a Masonic service will start.
Burial with military honors will follow in East Harrisburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Delvin’s request was to make donations in his memory to the Masonic Learning Center for Children, 2701 N. 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
